Summary

Metal-detecting here in 2005 recovered various items of post-medieval date including a jetton, coin and part of a lead bird feeder. In 2009 metal detecting in this area recovered a Prehistoric flint piercer, possible Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age hoard, one Late Saxon and four medieval coins, Romano-British, medieval and post-medieval metal objects, and four near-contemporary 17th-century coin weights. Metal-detecting in 2009 and 2010 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery and metal objects and undatable metalworking debris.

September-October 2005. Metal-detecting.
1 post-medieval coin, 1 jetton, 1 lead bird feeder and 1 lead powder charge cap/measure.
3 undatable lead weights.

October-November 2009. Metal-detecting.
Prehistoric flint piercer.
Possible Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age hoard comprising incomplete harness mount (S1), sword fragments (S2), and hollow ring fragment.
One Late Saxon and four medieval coins.
Roman (S3), medieval and post-medieval metal objects (including silver clothes fastener eye plate), and four near-contemporary 17th-century coin weights.
The Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age hoard and the post-medieval silver eye plate were submitted as potential Treasure (Treasure cases 2009 T754 and 2009 T703 respectively), declared Treasure at inquest on 13 September 2010 and both subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (prehistoric hoard accessioned as NWHCM : 2011.345 and post-medieval eye plate as NWHCM : 2011.310).
