Summary

A pumping station existed here in the post medieval period. It had a beam engine installed in 1849 and was still in existence by 1936. Sadly, no trace of this building survives into modernity.

Full description

Beam engine installed 1849. Lancashire boiler and flywheel with spokes cast in halves.
(S1) states in existence 1936 but now totally disappeared; however, current Ordnance Survey mapping shows a building on this site marked 'pumping station'.
