Full description

August 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a possible Bronze Age or Iron Age pit alignment are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks were previously recorded as part of NHER 21774. A line of twelve pits extends for 65m between TG3563029805 and TG3569529785 on a roughly northwest to southeast alignment. One pit lies slightly to the north of the main line creating a step or overlap in the alignment. The pits are sub circular in shape and measure up to 2.5m in diameter. It is possible that these pits are part of a short or incomplete Bronze Age or Iron Age pit alignment. It is also possible that the pits could represent a line of uprooted trees along an undated boundary.
(S1).
J. Albone (NMP), 16 August 2004.
