Norfolk Ancient Woodland Historic Environment Rapid Identification Survey Pilot Study.
Buckenham Wood:
Bank to north and along road may be in part medieval. Fragments of an enclosure central to the wood may also be medieval. Extraction pits are scattered over the wood, with a large one encompassing much of the eastern third, used as official tip in modern times.
See report (S1) for further information, including detailed descriptions of the individual features identified (Contexts 1-10). The results of this survey are also summarised in (S2).
