Summary
Archaeological field survey in 2003 recovered significant prehistoric flint tool and flake scatters, most probably Late Bronze Age. Prehistoric burnt flint and post medieval tile and pottery were also found. Evaluation in 2011 recovered ditches and pits dating to the Late Bronze Age-Iron Age and the post medieval period.

September 2002. Desk-based Assessment.
Assessment of proposed mineral extraction area.
Remains of Roman date may extend across the assessment area, particularly given the proximity of a possible temple site immediately to the east (NHER 9743). For the medieval period there is little to suggest that Mangreen was anything but small and marginal, despite its perceived importance.

Most of the area surveyed appeared to contain anomalies associated with recent agricultural activity.

Evaluation of proposed aggregate extraction area (Field 1; Trenches 1-18).
Field systems and probable settlement activity from the late Bronze Age to the medieval period were revealed, with the majority of activity occurring during the Roman period further to the south, which has been recorded separately under NHER 57922.
