Summary
A World War Two tank trap is visible as an earthwork bank on 1944 and 1946 aerial photographs. The part of the bank in Hunstanton parish measured about 1.3km long; a continuing section in Holme next the Sea was over 2km long. Located alongside a natural watercourse, it was probably constructed from upcast from the channel.

Full description
January 2001. NMP.
A bank is visible on 1944 and 1946 aerial photographs (S1)-(S2) running alongside a natural watercourse, between TF 6966 4346 and TF 6879 4264, for approximately 1.3km. The banks are made up of spoil heaps which resulted from a deepening of the natural channel around World War Two, to form a tank trap running slightly inland along this section of coast. There are banks on both sides of the channel for most of the length of this feature, but an offshoot of the bank continues in fragmentary form from TF 6900 4267 to TF 6894 4232. The feature continues to the east into Holme next the Sea parish for some 2.5km. This section is recorded as NHER 26701.
