Summary

According to an Ordnance Survey map of 1836, a windmill once stood at this location. This windmill was replaced by a tower mill in, or before, 1841. The mill was last operated by wind and steam in 1912 but was still operating by 1915 using steam only.

Full description

'Old Windmill' marked on Ordnance Survey, but farmer tells me this was destroyed in 1900 and nothing remains.

This was replaced by a tower mill in or before 1841. Last used by 'wind and steam' 1912 but mill was 'doing a good grist trade' in 1915 - but perhaps by steam only.
