Full description

2 July 1996. NLA aerial photography.
Cropmark of a ring ditch, showing a clear response in the crop.
To the west is a much more poorly defined cropmark of an oval enclosure. It appears to be anthropogenic, although a geological origin must be borne in mind due to the ephemeral nature of the cropmark.
S. Massey (NLA), 8 May 2001.

July 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a ring ditch probably a Bronze Age round barrow, is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The oval enclosure previously recorded under this number is now recorded separately as NHER 44838 and the grid reference for the ring ditch has been amended from TM 3447 9323 to TM 3452 9321. The ring ditch is circular in plan with a 2.5m wide ditch and an external diameter of 29m. It is likely that it is of Bronze Age date and that it relates to a round barrow. An irregular curvilinear pit cropmark, possibly a grave, is present in the centre of the ring ditch. This ring ditch forms part of a barrow cemetery (NHER 44844) and is situated on a ridge at approximately 22m OD. The area of the ring ditch was under pasture in 1975, but no earthwork remains or cropmarks were visible at that time (S3).
J. Albone (NMP), 10 July 2006.
