Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in 1995 recovered undatable prehistoric, ?Mesolithic and ?Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age worked flints; post-medieval clay tobacco pipe and glass; an undatable whetstone fragment and a range of metal objects. The metal finds included a Roman bracelet; a Middle Saxon pin; a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount; a medieval dagger pommel, harness pendant and purse frame fragment and a post-medieval book clasp and a hooked tag.

Before 29 June 1995. Fieldwalking and metal detecting.
5 undatable prehistoric flint flakes.
1 ?Mesolithic crested flake, 1 blade fragment and 1 retouched/utilised blade-like flake.
28 ?Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age flint flakes, 1 small end scraper, 1 side scraper, 3 notched flakes, 2 irregular (?shatter pieces) with retouch and 1 small cortical core.
1 Roman copper alloy bracelet fragment.
1 Middle Saxon pin.
1 Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount (Williams 1997 Class B Type 3 Group 6).
1 medieval dagger 'wheel' pommel, 1 horse harness pendant, 1 purse frame fragment and 1 strap end.
1 post-medieval clay tobacco pipe stem fragment, 1 glass bottle fragment, 1 hooked tag and 1 book clasp.
1 undatable ?micaceous schist whetstone fragment.
