Full description

Stood on site of a windpump, in addition to two at adjacent site 15576.
Steam engine house erected at time of Enclosures - before 1840 when it was modified.
Originally with Cornish boiler and beam or grasshopper engine; said to have been converted to a Galloway engine in 1848 but fittings now visible are unusual for this type and a turbine may have been intended. Engine house demolished to foundations in 1937, chimney survived until at least 1962, remaining building used as a house.
Electric pumps of 1936 and 1994 adjacent.
