Summary

Metal-detecting in 1993/1994 and between 2014 and 2017 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including a Neolithic/Bronze Age retouched flake; a Middle Saxon sceatta; and undated, Roman, Early Saxon and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated unidentified copper alloy object; Roman brooches, a furniture fitting and a steelyard weight; a small Early Saxon gold and garnet mount, probably from a scabbard; a Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval copper alloy chafing dish fragment and part of a mirror case; a medieval/post-medieval lead weight, coin weight, badge, scabbard chape, thimble and chaffing dish handle fragment and post-medieval harness mounts, a seal matrix, saddle pommel cap fragment, crotal bell, hinge, rotary key and thimble.
