Summary

A late 15th or 16th century timber framed house that is now divided in two cottages. The house may originally have been an open-hall house, with upper floors and stacks inserted in the 16th century. The house has a double fireplace and bread oven in the central stack, and several 18th and 19th century clay lump and brick lean-tos.

Full description

October 1987. Listed, Grade II.
16th century timber framed house now subdivided. Pantiles. 2 1/2 cells, 1 1/2 storeys. Axial stack. Stud work visible on exterior. Partly refaced 18th century and 20th century, several outshuts. Central stack has double fireplace, one with bread oven. Studwork partition across recess. Small semir circular opening from fireplace to outside wall. In north cell, ogee stepped bridgin beam, 2 four centred doorways in wood and stair beside them.
