Full description

January-April 1997. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline (Field/location RDX 22.1).
Prehistoric flint flakes, a scraper, a core fragment, and a pot boiler were recovered along with a sherd of medieval pottery, 3 sherds of post medieval pottery, a concentration of 18 fragments of post medieval ceramic building material, and a fragment of an 18th century copper alloy shoe buckle. A thin scatter of brick, pantile and roof tile covered the majority of the field but was particularly dense in the south and may indicate the presence of former structures along the Ludham to Potter Heigham road.
See report (S1) for further details.
The archive associated with this work has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2011.55 and NWHCM : 2017.395).
