Summary

In 1946 a possible ploughed out Bronze Age round barrow was noted on the Castle Acre boundary. However, visits to the site in 1976 and 1998 failed to find any trace of the barrow suggesting it had been completely destroyed at an earlier date.

Full description

Ploughed out barrow almost on Castle Acre boundary.
Nearly 61m (200ft) OD, approximately 576m (630yds) northeast of the northeast corner of Butcher's Covert. Discovered by H. Birkbeck in 1946.
No sign in ploughed field 16 March 1976.
