Summary

Fieldwalking here during 1969-97 recovered Iron Age, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds. These included sherds belonging to Late Saxon Thetford Ware, medieval Grimston Ware and post medieval lead glazed earthenware. In addition, a post medieval pewter spoon was retrieved from the same site.

Thetford Ware, medieval and post medieval sherds found.
Finds held by NCM.

Also possible pewter spoon, presumably post medieval.

16 May 1980. Same site, found in fieldwalking.
Rim of possible Thetford type ware, inturned bowl rim Grimston/Thetford War, twenty Grimston green-glazed sherds including flanged rim, rod and strap handles (13th-15th centuries); thirteen medieval sherds including inturned bowls, 12th century. One lead glazed earthenware base.

N.B. some of the finds from site NHER 3718 found in May 1980 along north edge of road may in fact have come from this site.
