Full description

September 1998. New development of houses under construction.
Spoil from digging of foundations was taken to TF 9781 3594 to be spread on former common to level uneven ground.
Pottery found:
1 ?Thetford body sherd.
2 Early medieval rims.
6 medieval unglazed body sherds, some fresh.
1 Glazed Grimston.
Area of site not inspected due to very muddy nature and machinery.
B. Cushion (NLA) 8 September 1998.

Autumn 1998. Finds from spoil heaps.
Predominently fresh sherds:
1 Roman greyware.
Thetford type, including Grimston Thetford, 2 jar and 3 bowl rims.
1 rim ginger jar (early medieval)
3 bs Medieval unglazed.
