Summary

Metal-detecting from 1998-2009 recovered a range of objects dating from the Roman to the post-medieval period. These include medieval brooches, medieval buckles, part of a medieval case for weights, a possible post-medieval silver binding ring, a post-medieval spoon. The medieval brooches include an unusual annular brooch. Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins were found. Medieval and post-medieval tokens and jettons were also recorded. Metal-detecting in 2011 recovered a medieval buckle and lead weight.

One Roman coin.

?Binding ring, of silver wire, probably post-medieval. See (S1).
Medieval lead alloy, double-looped buckle frame, oval loops, pin constriction between pair of mouldings. From shoe or patten. Late medieval bronze oval buckle frame with offset bar and straight outer edge. Double moulding at pin rest. Fragment of thin sheet plate survives on bar, with central pin slot. 16th century/early 17th century bronze spoon with part of flattened hexagonal stem remaining (fresh break). Short reinforcing stem under bowl at junction with stem. On inside of bowl close to stem a touchmark IW in pelleted circle.
