Summary

Metal-detecting in this area during 1996 - 2005 recovered a variety of metal objects and coins. Finds included a Roman brooch, a medieval/post medieval decorative horse harness mount, an Early Saxon small-long brooch, a medieval seal matrix and a Middle Saxon or Late Saxon nummular brooch. Metal-detecting in 2010 recovered a book fitting mount and a spur fragment.

Full description

1996. Metal detector finds.
Two 4th century coins.
Three medieval coins.

Said to have been another eighteen coins found!
One Roman brooch.
Sub-circular mount with two attachment shanks on back and two projecting terminals, one is plain, the other has decoration of notched sides between transverse grooves. Decorative horse harness mounts probably. Late medieval or early post-medieval. Polaroid in file.
