Name:Possible Early Saxon inhumation cemetery and multi-period metal objects

Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1996-98 recovered a selection of multi-period metal objects. Finds of note included Early Saxon wrist clasps, a cruciform brooch and bucket mount along with a Roman hairpin, post medieval lead cloth seal and a tiny medieval annular brooch. The type and quantity of Early Saxon finds may suggest this site was an inhumation cemetery.
