Field survey in 1996 recorded the presence of a very rare 1940 spigot mortar gun emplacement in a weapon pit. This very overgrown hexagonal emplacement was sited to protect the nearby bridge.

Very overgrown hexagonal emplacement sited to enfilade bridge.
