Summary

Aerial photography in 1996 revealed the cropmarks of a possible sunken way and field boundaries. There was also evidence of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation. Metal detecting in 2001 recovered Roman coins and Roman and medieval pottery fragments.

Full description

1996. Aerial photography.
Grassland to east of Coldham Farm has a well defined headland bank with remnants of ridge and furrow to south, extending almost to an east-west hollow which is a former field boundary and possible hollow way.
Height difference of ridge and furrow is 0.3m maximum, 6+m width.

RAF photographs indicates possible series to west but indistinct.
