Summary

A fragment of Roman pottery and a Roman tessera found during fieldwalking. Metal-detecting in 2017 recovered Neolithic/Bronze Age flint flakes and a core; Roman, Late Saxon, Late Saxon/medieval, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds, a medieval spindle whorl; medieval and post-medieval coins and a medieval jetton; and Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon pin fragment; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval scabbard chape and weight; medieval/post-medieval candlesticks, buttons, a purse bar fragment, a copper alloy vessel fragment; a scabbard chape; a copper alloy ring and a harness mount; and a post-medieval harness mount.
