Summary

Metal detecting between 1993 and 1999 recovered a number of objects from the Roman, medieval and post medieval periods, including five early Roman brooches. Also recovered were a Bronze Age chisel and a prehistoric worked flint.

Full description

1993. Metal detector finds.
Late medieval circular buckle.
Medieval very damaged bronze strap-end buckle plus integral plate.
Lead disc incised radiating lines pierced hole near edge and one in centre. post medieval.
Post medieval lead triangular weight rather roughly shaped, stamped with a rectangular stamp with billeted border and another stamp.
Lead pot mend with thumb print ?date.

Edward I/II penny.

Early post medieval double-looped buckle frame both loops trapezoidal, (broken bar extends beyond frame). Outer edges expanded into wedges with grooved pin rests and knop at each end of both. 56x49mm.
