Repeated metal-detecting between 1994 and 2006 recovered a large number of finds, including; Lower Palaeolithic and undatable prehistoric worked flints; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins (including a gold medieval coin); medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Early-Middle Bronze Age axe/palstave fragment; Roman brooches and cosmetic pestle; Early Saxon wrist clasps and brooch; a Middle Saxon pin; Middle-Late Saxon brooches and mount; Late Saxon brooches and strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval coin weights, keys, balance arm, seal matrices, harness pendants, harness mounts and sewing ring; medieval/post-medieval thimbles and post-medieval coin weights, book clasps, spurs, a pipe-tamper in the form of squatting semi-naked woman and many lead cloth seals.

Medieval stirrup-shaped hasp or buckle with spherical knob projecting.
Medieval or early post medieval fastener or model for one, lead. Rectangular eye and tapering triangular body, broken end. Possibly a hooked tag.
Handle from early post medieval candle snuffers.
Cast Late Saxon disc brooch, four pairs of running spirals and a central annulet in low relief. Traces of probable enamel in fields. Lug for pin set near edge and at right angles to line of missing pin, catch-plate broken off. (S1)

Solid cast bronze post medieval pipe-tamper, lower tamping part missing, in form of squatting semi-naked woman lifting her skirts, one hand in front, the other behind. Small hole on each side between neck and hair. See (S1).

Double-hooked possible clothing fastener or potentially a sword belt fitting. Central plate is a double-heart shape, each heart decorated with a relief foliage pattern. Early post medieval.
Book clasp hook plate. Tapers from an expanded curved end to the narrow hook. Just before the hook is a rectangular lobe. Two rivet holes have a pair of concentric grooves each, the rest of the plate has a border of tiny double punched triangles. Late medieval.

NCM accessions register has, under NCM 1996.28 and this county number and grid reference '42 lead cloth seals' donated by a member of the public [4]. There seems to be no previous reference to this and no information received by June 1999.

Medieval curious littile object. Cast bronze onion-shaped, with a flat reverse and broken off rod at the top. The curved side is decorated with a horizontal groove across the middle, then a vertical groove runs down from this to meet a border groove running from end to end of the horizontal groove. On the flat face is a crude grooved border around a series of short 'pecked'. (S2)
Medieval gillt bronze buckle frame, originally a long narrow oval with offset narrowed bar but bar now missing. The outer edge is decorated with three 'V' shaped alternating with four C-shaped scoops from the internal side.
