Summary

Metal-detecting between 1994 and 2012 has recovered finds including Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and tokens and Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Roman brooches; medieval seal matrices, a swivel, pot mend, hooked mount, harness mount and buckles; medieval/post-medieval rings, weights, a vessel rim fragment and a brazed iron cylindrical padlock case and post-medieval dress accessories, crotal bells, coin weights, a saddle pommel, incomplete spoon, a thimble, an openwork furniture hinge and a trade weight stamped with a crowned A (for Queen Anne, 1702-14 AD).

August/September 1994. Metal detecting. [1].
Half of a 15th/16th century purse bar, with moulded terminal and swivel loop.
15th/16th century ovoid seal matrix with upright handle on reverse. Lion rampant.
Medieval/16th century pointed oval belt mount with spike on reverse.
Half a 16th/17th century double looped rectangular buckle frame.
16th century belt stiffener, but great length of shanks before bend (15mm) suggests a belt slide.

Two Roman coins.
Post medieval coin and token.
Mid 1st century AD Dolphin brooch, hinged pin and catch plate missing, bow bent so that foot almost touches one wing (? Deliberately). Small simple and crudely made example.
14th century three piece strap end with cast acorn terminal.
Medieval purse frame fragment with integral pierced holes and circular terminal with central hole for attachment to bar.
16th century hooked sword belt fitting with leaf decoration and ?matching mount with one of two spikes on reverse.
16th century buckle with central pin bar.
