Summary

Metal-detecting between 1994 and 2019 recovered a Neolithic/Bronze Age flake; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, and a medieval jetton and post-medieval token; as well as undated, Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated copper alloy ring; a Roman brooch; Middle Saxon pin; Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval strap-ends, lead pot mends, a buckle, rotary key, censer cauldron fragment, harness pendant, ampulla and thimble; medieval/post-medieval spindle whorls or weights, buckles, copper alloy vessel fragments, a lead weight, possible weight or plum-bob, thimble and hooked tag and a post-medieval furniture mount, cloth seal, drawer handle, buckle and crotal bell.

Full description

February 1994. General finds in part of field.
Cast leg, fragment of, from medieval cauldron.
Three medieval coins.
Late medieval six-lobed harness pendant with central rosette in a roundel, surrounded by six fleurs-de-lis in low relief on a red enamel ground and the lobes are also lis-shaped. Out of one projects the suspension loop. The one opposite is broken.
