Full description

11 July 1989. NAU air photography.
Possible double concentric ring ditch.
D.Edwards (NAU).

May 2003. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of possible concentric ring ditch visible on NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1989 (S1). The site is extremely confused by reversed cropmarks of geological background features. At first glance the previously recorded concentric ring ditch is not visible. However there are several arcs of possible ditches, which may define part of the circuit of a ring ditch, approximately 19.5m in diameter. One stretch of ditch runs from TG 1109 4007 to TG 1110 4006 and another from TG 1111 4008 to TG 1110 4008. The possible inner ditch seen from the air may be partly visible from TG 1110 4007 to TG 1110 4007, potentially 6.5m in diameter. Having recorded these possible arcs of ring ditch, it must be stated again that the cropmarks were ephemeral in the extreme and further photography would be required for a more definite interpretation.
S. Massey (NMP), 16 May 2005.
