Summary

Metal detecting here in 1993 recovered various items including an Iron Age coin, a Late Saxon knife, a Roman Hod Hill brooch, a medieval buckle frame, a medieval repousse rosette belt boss. Subsequent fieldwalking at the site in 1997 retrieved Neolithic/Bronze Age flints as well as sherds of Roman, Late Saxon and medieval pottery.

Twelve Roman coins.
One Iron Age coin. Photograph. See lists in file.
Late Saxon knife with angled back and incurved tip, iron.
Roman bronze Hod Hill brooch 1st century AD. Tapering bow, decorated with 2 longitudinal grooves. Foot and pin missing.
Medieval bronze tanged buckle frame from location [1].
Part of possible Roman handle, bronze cast. Curving with attachment stud at one end next to transverse grooves. Cross-hatched decoration. Photograph.
Medieval bronze suspension ring.
Medieval bronze repousse rosette belt boss.
Medieval bronze rosette back-plate from handle.
