Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking at this location between 1992 and 1996 recovered a range of objects including Neolithic worked flints; medieval pottery sherds; Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and tokens and other Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Saxon hooked tag and various medieval to post-medieval dress accessories.

1995. Metal-detecting.
1 ?Early Neolithic flint ?projectile point (S1), 1 obliquely truncated blade and 14 blade/flakes (including 8 long narrow examples).
1 Late Neolithic flint ?Levallois core.
14 Roman coins, 2 brooches and 1 spoon fragment (?tinned).
3 medieval coins, 1 jetton with attached strip for suspension or use as brooch fitting, 1 purse bar, 1 horse harness pendant, 1 copper alloy vessel handle, 4 buckles, 1 belt slide, 1 buckle/belt slide, 1 strap end and 1 strap end/bar mount.
1 medieval/post-medieval mount.
3 post-medieval jettons, 3 tokens, 1 hooked tag, 1 buckle, 1 ?strap end, 1 strap loop, 1 ?furniture fitting, 1 thimble and 1 lead cloth seal.
2 ?post-medieval buckles and 1 gold ring.
1 undatable copper alloy ring.

1996. Flint fieldwalking finds at [1].
Small biface, 60x30x14mm leaf-shaped with some cortex on one face. Heavy white patina. May be an unfinished leaf arrowhead and therefore Neolithic.

Flake, short broad and of dark grey flint (shown by minor breaks) with heavy white patina (as previous example). Distal end is ragged, but this appears to be mainly natural or accidental damage. Undatable prehistoric.
