December 1997. Metal detecting. [2].
Identified by H.Geake (NCM):-
Roman brooch. Bow'n fantail, but rather an oddity, having elements of both the Maxey type and the enamelled type and some elements all of its own. Tubular wings originally held an iron bar for the missing hinged pin, which is an unusual arrangment for a bow'n fantail. Wings have two transverse grooves at each end. Tapering bow has four longitudinal grooves. Its junction with the leg is marked by a square moulding as in Maxey type. Fan-shaped leg has a curved base and double longitudinal groove. Catchplate on reverse. 1st/2nd century AD. (S1) NCM.
A. Rogerson (NLA), 30 January 1998.

June-July 2018. Metal-detecting. [3].
1 post-medieval coin and a copper alloy vessel repair rivet.
Information from PAS import.
E. McDonald (HES), 2 October 2018.
