An RAF aerial photograph taken in 1946 records a number of earthwork features and a curvilinear ditch at this location. These marks were felt to be indicative of medieval tofts bordering the edge of common land here - perhaps the village green.

Full description

January 1946. RAF aerial photograph shows features as earthworks.
The curvilinear ditch bounding the site to east is probably a common edge feature - see (S1), the tofts thus medieval common edge settlement.
