Summary

Extensive metal detecting here during the period 1992-2005 has recovered a diverse range of multi-period metal objects and coins. Noteworthy finds include a decorated medieval skillet handle, half of a post medieval Jew's harp, a Roman child's bracelet, a Saxon strap end, two King's Lynn farthing tokens and a 17th century furniture fitting. The coins found dated to the Roman, medieval and post medieval periods.

Late medieval thumb piece from lid of ewer (tapering wedge shaped).
Lead disc with relief cross on one face ?plaque cross ?Medieval.
Fragment of cast bronze ?vessel, with raised band ?Medieval.
Early post medieval hemispherical button, cast decoration, scar of loop on reverse.
Post medieval Jew's harp (half).

1995. Metal detector finds.
9th century strap end with three rivet holes at split end. Decorated with fan-shaped motif at top, rectangular field below with symmetrical linear interlace (with ?animal head and ?foot in top corner). Below a flat stylised animal head terminal engraved rather than in relief. Edges have transverse hatching.
Decorated lead circular sheet ?function, ?Medieval.

H. M. Geake (NCM) identified:
Circular uniface coin weight, worn edges with ship on one face. For half noble coin. Weighing 3.17g/0.11oz. 15th- 16th century.
Flat piece of cast bronze with an irregular outline. It has grooved ?decoration on one side and some iron and lead traces on the other. It has a Late Saxon/Saxon look about it. Is it a miscast bridle cheekpiece? or undatable metalworking debris.
