Name:Site of Roman settlement and multi-period finds

Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking on this site between 1990 and 2015 has recovered a large quantity of Roman coins, pottery fragments and other Roman metal finds, including some brooches that show signs of repair. These finds suggest that this was the site of a small Roman settlement. Prehistoric flints; Iron Age coins, pottery and a brooch; a Roman/Early Saxon brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle Saxon coin; Late Saxon pottery and medieval and post medieval coins, pottery and metal finds have also been found on the site.
