Summary

Metal-detecting between 1989 and 1991 and subsequently between 2003 and 2011 recovered a Neolithic flint scraper; Romano-British and Late Saxon to post-medieval pottery sherds; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval and post-medieval coin weight and other Late Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Iron Age brooch; a Roman figurine; an Early Saxon pendant and brooches, including an S-brooch; a Middle Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon spindle whorl; medieval dress accessories, a pilgrim badge, seal and a wrythen-decorated knop of a spoon; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and post-medieval dress accessories, crotal bells, a cloth seal, plumb bob and other weights.

Pottery and metalwork of many periods.

2 medieval coins, buckles, a thimble and a lead biconical spindle whorl.
Medieval/post-medieval iron cylindrical padlock case, wrythen-decorated knop of a copper alloy spoon and an everted rim sherd and fragment of a three-toed foot of a cast copper alloy cooking vessel.
Post-medieval coin weight, lead button, crotal bell, wire dress fastener and harness mount or stud.
Undatable solidified molten globule of copper alloy casting waste.
