October 1987. Metal detecting. Grid reference provided by finder - not marked by him on map.
Late Saxon copper alloy box mount decorated with human face, see Illustration (S1) and Article (S2).
This find was reidentified as a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount by D. Williams in 1997, see Monograph (S3).
