Summary
Fieldwalking in 1987 recovered a Mesolithic flint tranchet axehead and identified an area of prehistoric flint pot boilers in slightly darker soil. Fragments of medieval and post medieval pottery were also found.

Full description
Before May 1987. Fieldwalking.
Area of pot boilers noted when beans were being planted, within slightly darker soil. 9m east to west by 12m north to south. Found just to the south:
1 Mesolithic flint tranchet axe. See drawing (S1).
Odd medieval unglazed and twelve glazed Grimston sherds also found in general area, along with two misfired post medieval sherds (probably nearby production site NHER 19812).
