A small scatter of medieval pottery has been found by fieldwalking, indicating that this was probably a medieval settlement site adjacent to the road. Prehistoric flints have also been recovered.

Full description
24 December 1986. Fenland fieldwalking.
Weathered ploughsoil, young winter cereal.
Context 1. MDT AJ.
General scatter odd undated sherds opposite farmhouse and in southwest corner mainly, also odd flints.
Context 2 at 6604 1472. MDT 6.
Small spread of medieval pottery, sparse, beside road. Rarity of pottery elsewhere on road frontage sufficient to indicate a site here. 43m northwest to southeast x 12m northeast to southwest at 5.8m OD.

Some of the material from Context 1 has been reidentified as medieval pottery.
