Summary

Metal-detecting between 2006 and 2019 recovered prehistoric worked flints including a Neolithic flint scraper; a Neolithic/Bronze Age flake; medieval to post-medieval pottery and roof tiles; Roman, Saxon, medieval to post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and tokens and Middle Iron Age to Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Bronze Age socketed axe fragment; a Middle Iron Age brooch; a Late Iron Age/Roman Colchester type one-piece brooch and harness fitting; Roman brooches, votive wheel or wheel brooch, nail, bracelet fragment, furniture mount and decorated gold strip (possibly a binding); Early Saxon brooches and a spangle; a Middle Saxon copper alloy pin fragment and brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon hooked tag a Middle Saxon to medieval hooked tag; Late Saxon harness links and a cast lead weight or gaming piece; a Late Saxon/medieval hasp and bridle bit; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval seal matrices, an ampulla, casket key, rotary key, candlestick, ewer, censer-cover, horse harness suspension mount, book mount, leash swivel, coin weight, and a hooked bar mount from a horse harness; medieval/post-medieval finger rings, a gilt copper alloy sword chape, conical lead weight, coin weight, lace tag, and palimpsest monumental brass fragment and post-medieval coin weights, cloth seals, harness mounts, lead weights, a rotary key, sword belt mount, tap, toy musket, purse frame fragment and hooked attachment for a spur leather. A miniature pick, toy or small specialist tool of Roman or post-medieval date was also recovered.
