Summary

A large dense scatter of Roman pottery fragments and a few pieces of Iron Age pottery were noted on the surface of a ploughed field in 1985.

Full description

May 1985: 150m northwest of Neolithic and Roman site NHER 21002. On surface of ploughed field. Dense scatter, 40m east to west, 60m north to south, of Roman sherds, and seven sherds of Iron Age flint-gritted.

Roman includes about 200 small grey scraps, with some 4th century type rims, and a few sherds of Nar Valley type ware. Two sherds of very abraded 2nd century samian and two sherds of grey mortaria. Almost entirely 4th century. No building material; scatter falls off gradually from the edges of the main 60 by 40 concentration.
