Summary

A medieval parish church dating mainly to the 14th century with some 15th century alterations. The church contains a 15th century octagonal font and a unique example of a 12th century wooden chest, decorated with arches and carved rosettes. Roman, Late Saxon and medieval pottery fragments have been found in the churchyard, as well as medieval building foundations.

Has a unique Norman wooden chest.

Excavations of dry area trench revealed walls, possible former extension eastwards of north chancel chapel.

1990.
Gravediggers reported to have found a large flint footing 'north of the church'.
