A 16th or early 17th century farmhouse with later alterations. Fragments of lava quern or millstone are incorporated into the walls of the house.

Full description

16th or early 17th century.
2 builds, flint and brick with pantile roof.
2 storey T plan house to east, with west addition of 2 storey through passage house, 4 bays.
East house earlier, flint and brick, late windows.
West house 2 storey offcentre south porch with brick pilasters, moulded brick string course and pediment.
Filled in arch to west.
Parapet altered.
Four centred doorway in wood.
West gable with external stack with diaperwork.
East stack now built into west house, originally external.
Roofs have butt purlins, collars and wind braces.
Moulded and stopped beams on ground and first floors.
Older house has moulded and stopped doorcase.

Presumably reference to stacks means that stack at east end of western house was originally external west stack of eastern house. Not very clear!
