Name:Medieval trackway, Late Saxon to post medieval pottery sherds

Summary

Fieldwalking in 1984 by the Fenland Survey recovered a small scatter of medieval pottery sherds, as well as a single Late Saxon sherd. The possible remains of a medieval trackway were also noted, along with post medieval rubbish.

Full description

23 October 1984. Fieldwalking ploughed land, heavy with barley, well weathered.
Context 1= general scatter medieval pottery. TSJ BB (S1)
Context 2 at 5379 1324. Sparse scatter medieval pottery on slight ridge besides medieval drove. This ridge is highest just north of the centre of its length and this is where medieval pot is most frequent; tails off to south. Also quite a lot of post medieval rubbish around area, but this is as dense to south as further north. 30m east to west x 54m north to south. TSJ 24 (S2).
