Summary
Fieldwalking in 1984 by the Fenland Survey recovered a number of medieval pottery sherds, as well as noting several features. One of these was a scatter of medieval and post medieval pottery sherds, shell and bone in combinatino with abundant brick and fired clay, situated on the edge of a medieval trackway. Another concentration of medieval material was also noted.

Full description
3 October 1984. Within Pinders Newland Field. (S1, S2, S3).
Context 1. General scatter over field of medieval sherds.
Context 2 at 5408 1570. Moderate scatter medieval sherds, moderate to abundant post medieval sherds, sparse shell and animal bone, abundant brick and fired clay. On edge medieval drove and on top of what is probably a rodhan. 44m west to east x 18m north to south.
Context 3 at 5407 1567. Sparse spread of medieval sherds, a little brick and post medieval sherds but a relatively pure medieval site. Little bone and shell. On edge of drove. 24m east to west x 10m north to south.
