Summary

Two or more skeletons with missing skulls were found. These may be suicides, as these were traditionally buried at crossroads. Alternatively documentary evidence suggests this might be the site of Gnattingdon church and cemetery.

Full description

Date unknown. Northwest corner of crossroads on Peddar's Way.
Two or more human skeletons found, with heads missing- removed by wearing away of angle of bank? Possibly suicides buried at crossroads, but field to south named as Old Chapel Close in 1500 copyhold and 1546 field book- site of Gnattington church?
Information from (S1) but origin not given.
Note NHER 1614 in same field produced 'various bones'.
