Full description

11 May 1984. Area behind new mushroom farm between pig farm and Mundford Strip.
Surface finds from area 72 x 32m, vegetable patch with strips of differently weathered soil and in places growing plants. All Ipswich and most Roman in southern half but northern half much less weathered.
11 worked flints, 22 Roman shell-gritted sherds, 24 Roman greyware, 1 Roman oxidised, 1 Nene Valley Colour Coated. Range 3rd to 4th century (A. Gregory). 1 rim, 1 base, 2 sherds sandy Ipswich, 1 sherd pimply Ipswich, 10 sherds unglazed medieval or Roman; 2 medieval unglazed; 1 glazed Grimston; 1 ?late medieval jug rim.
