Full description

1955. Stay Find.
Found around 2000 yds (1828m) north-west of Warham:
1 prehistoric quartzite macehead with hour-glass perforation. Now held by the NCM (NWHCM : 1957.150 : A). Information from (S1), which had a rough sketch of the macehead.
This find is listed in (S2) as a potentially Mesolithic object, although it should be noted that maceheads of this type are generally not considered to be closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
