1981? Stray Find.
Found while gardening in garden of Greenjackets, Station Road:
1 Palaeolithic flint ovate handaxe. See drawing (S1).
Identified by A. Lawson (NAU) as "probably dating from Hoxnian intergacial c. 300,000 BC".
Originally compiled by W. Milligan (NCM), 4 December 1981. Information from (S2).
Described by Wymer on (S3) and in (S4) as a flat-butted cordate handaxe in sharp condition. This object is also listed in (S5) and (S6), although no additional information is given.
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 4 August 2014.
