Summary
In 1973 the earthworks of a possible medieval moat and pond were identified on a map of 1883. A site visit in 1991 found that the moats were broad and dry and had a possible associated hollow way. Two sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from molehills on site.

1973.
Earthwork of possible moat including pond shown on (S1)

February 1991.
Moat lies about 300m south of St Margaret's Church, Tatterford, adjacent to river Tas.
Rectangular with no south arm, measuring about 90m north to south, about 45m east to west.
Moats are broad and shallow, widening to a pond in northwest corner.
Outside the West arm is a bank about 0.75m high running north to south with a linear depression of possible hollow way.
The moats are dry, and the whole is a rough pasture field.
