Full description

1969-1970. Stray Find. [1].
Dredged from Waveney, perhaps from Norfolk side though found dumped along the Suffolk bank (between TM 1435 7870 and TM 1550 7844):
Neolithic worked flints.
Roman pottery sherds (including coarseware and Samian).
Information from (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 8 January 2014.

1985. Stray Find. [2].
Found at TM 1500 7836 but dredged from river east of Scole Bridge (in Suffolk).
Tip of bone point; polished and stained brown but otherwise in very good condition; break probably ancient. Parallel scratches of tooling still visible but no 'shudder marks' as frequently imparted by scraping with flint tool. Impossible to date but found in area of Mesolithic finds, and such a date is possible. Identified by J. J. Wymer (NAU).
This discovery was reported in (S2).
J. J. Wymer (NAU), 29 April 1985. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 8 January 2014.
