Summary

In 1979 a small Bronze Age copper alloy axehead was recovered from this area. The lower shaft was decorated with two zones of diagonal hatching, separated by three zones of three transverse ribs.

Full description

August 1979. Found in garden in digging potatoes.
Small bronze axe (length 81mm) with thick shaft and low flanges. Wide-splayed cutting edge. Lower shaft decorated with two zones of diagonal hatching separated by three zones of three transverse ribs.
